Why buy from us?
On The Nooks Marketplace, our Makers come first. That is why 100% of each sale goes directly to the vendors. There are no commissions, no listing fees, and no hidden costs to sell a product on our marketplace. Not only are you getting unique and amazing products, but you are supporting your local community and the handmade industry in Canada. We know we can't compete on prices with the big box stores but each product sold on The Nooks is made with care and passion!
Vendor FAQ
How does it work selling on The Nooks Marketplace?
With The Nooks Marketplace, we charge a flat monthly rate for all our memberships. This monthly membership gives you access to all the resources available in Nook world including our artisan business program nookSTART, access to our Facebook groups, education, and so much more!
For your sales, we do not charge any commission nor charge any additional fees outside of your membership! If you list your product for $40, you get $40 sent directly to you. We payout vendors on the 1st and the 16th of every month, so you'll never need to wait long to get your money.
The cost of a membership is $29/m, with no long term commitment needed.

I already sell on Etsy, why should I join The Nooks?
The Nooks Marketplace doesn't ask you to stop selling on other sites before joining! We welcome all our Makers to sell in as many places as possible. However with Etsy and sites likes Amazon, you pay around 15% commission on your sales, you're losing money every month. With products sold on The Nooks Marketplace, you keep every penny.
In addition to our platform, at The Nooks you'll receive access to learning guides, helpful knowledge, and access to a community of Makers just like yourself! We help promote your products through giveaways, paid advertising, partnerships, and so much more!
Why sell on The Nooks Marketplace vs Etsy or similar websites?
The Nooks Marketplace is the only 0% commission marketplace designed exclusively for handmade Canadian products. With other sites, you'll pay between 12-15% in commissions for every sale.
If you sell $250 worth of product per month:
- With us you make $231
- With them you make $212.50
- A $18.50 difference
If you sell $1000 worth of product per month:
- With us you make $971
- With them you make $850
- A $121 difference

Shipping
Shipping rates are calculated as a total for shipping from each Maker. For example if you order 3 products from 3 separate makers, your total shipping cost with be shipping from maker 1 + shipping from maker 2 + shipping from maker 3.
Orders are fulfilled by each Maker, our typical processing time is between 2-3 business days. For customizable products, please refer to the product description for processing time as some products may take up to 7 business days.
Our Makers decided what carrier they wish to use. The most common are Canada Post and Swiftpost
Returns and Exchanges
We would be more than happy to accept a return of any of our products, no questions asked, up to 14 days after you receive your order. To start a return, please contact us at marketplace@thenooks.ca with your order number and the product you wish to return.
